Vision:  I consider being part of the TBJUSD Board of Trustees an honor and a privilege.  It is our responsibility as parents, teachers, administrators and trustees to ensure our students receive the best educational tools available to be successful and reach their full potential.

I am proud of the young people in our community.  I want them to receive the skills needed to face life’s challenges and achieve their dreams.  The future of our community will be in the hands of today’s youth. I am proud to be part of the TBJUSD team striving to help prepare them for that future.

Background:  My parents moved to Tulelake when I was four years old. I attended Newell Elementary School and graduated from Tulelake High School in 1974. I retired a couple of years ago from the TBJUSD business office.  I have been married to my husband Robert for 37 years. Our son attended and graduated from TBJUSD. It is heartwarming to see my own grandchildren attend our school district.   I am proud to call Tulelake my home. I am proud to be a Tulelaker!

Vision:  I believe it is crucial to have a combination of reading, writing, arithmetic, sportsmanship, team work, loyalty and fun in the foundation of our education in the Tulelake Basin Joint Unified School District.  All of these components help create the successful adults we are sending into society.  A combined effort during the 12 years we are educating our youth is crucial to the success they find after graduation.  The Tulelake School District has been successfully sending youth into the world who have become doctors, lawyers, business men and women, joined the work force and also the military.  I believe that an integral part of student learning and success is the involvement in extra-curricular activities.  It is my goal to continue to offer all of these activities to our student body:  Academic Decathlon, FFA, FBLA, sports, leadership groups, etc.

Aligning our daily academics with extracurricular activities, along with providing up to date technology and the highest quality personnel possible, we are supporting our students with a well-rounded education.  It is imperative that the students that leave the Tulelake Basin Joint Unified School District have the knowledge and confidence that they will need to be successful in whatever endeavor they embark.

Background:  I am a graduate of THS, as are my wife, children and their spouses. I have been farming in the Tulelake area since 1973 following my discharge from the US Army.  All members of my family have been a 4-H and FFA member raising livestock for the Tulelake-Butte Valley Fair.  We attend as many school functions as possible to show our support for the students and faculty.  I have been on numerous local and state committees. I have traveled and talked to numerous people about education, economics and the world in general and it has only confirmed that my true love will forever be the Tulelake Basin.

Vision:  With great honor I represent the Latino community as a member of the Tulelake Basin Joint Unified School District.  I promote equal opportunity to participate in academic and extracurricular activities that support the success of students.  My vision is that children learn to appreciate diversity and not see it as a limitation or obstacle.  I strongly believe that with hard work, respect, and commitment our youth can flourish into responsible citizens.

Background:  Tulelake became my family's home in 1980.   My children graduated from Tulelake High School.  My involvement in supporting educational growth began by serving in the Migrant Education Program.  For eighteen years this opportunity allowed me to educate other farm workers in my community, region and throughout the state of California about education in America.  It has been a privilege to coach the Tulelake High School Soccer Team for sixteen years.  I joined the Tulelake Butte Valley Fair Board of Directors in 2002, where I currently serve as President.

Vision: I believe that every student deserves the best education possible. I want the current students to have the same or better opportunities than surrounding schools. Extracurricular activities are very important and help form well rounded individuals that are ready for their endeavors after high school. My vision is for Tulelake Joint Unified School District to be a place where parents from all over the basin want their kids to go because of the academic, athletic, and extracurricular opportunities.

Background: I was born and raised in Tulelake, CA. I graduated Valedictorian from Tulelake High School in 2008.  Following high school, I attended Sonoma State University for one year. I finished college at Oregon Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Entrepreneurship / Small Business Management in 2012. I married my high school sweetheart, Cody Dodson, in 2012 and we have one child, Keegan. My husband and I own a farm in Tulelake. In addition, I work as an insurance agent at Monte Johnson Insurance.
