Dear Students and Parents:
Welcome to Intro to Calculus. This course is for students who have completed the
entire math curriculum including Trigonometry/Pre-Calculus and who intend on
taking calculus in college. While it is without
the theoretical depth, breadth, and rigor of an AP level Calculus course,
topics will still include graphs, polynomial and radical functions, rational
functions, trigonometric functions, exponential and logarithmic functions,
limits, derivatives, applications of derivatives, integrals and applications of
integrals.
It is hoped that this course
does not create extra stress for its already over-extended students. It is not state tested and is intended mainly
to relieve the potential stress of their first year college courses. Thus, a grading plan will be formulated by
class members during the first week of classes.
I encourage parents to
contact me with any questions or concerns.
The best way to reach me is by e-mail at blarsen@tulelake.k12.ca.us. You can also reach me by telephone at
667-2292 extension 243 or you can generally find me in my classroom, Room 9,
before and after school.
Let’s have a good time
exploring Calculus.
